My husband s iPhone 6 has recently been stolen. How can we find the serial number for the phone without having the phone?

I don't think the serial number will help you except in a police report. If you turned on "find my phone" on the iPhone go to iCloud.com on your computer, log in to your iCloud account, then tap the find my phone icon to hopefully see the location Of the phone.
We usually try to answer specific questions - like your "serial number" one. If you are needing it to Report a lost or stolen Apple product - Apple Support - then I see you are likely at an impasse.
If you had "Find my iPhone" activated prior to the theft > If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support can help safeguard you info and disable the iPhone so it will be useless to the thief.

Thank you. We bought the phone from AT&T and the box it came in does not have the serial number On it. Odd, only the IMEC and ICCID numbers and when we try to register the phone using these number we got a response stating that the numbers are incorrect.
