Q: Clicking sounds in Logic

It kind of sounds like plugging in a guitar when the amp is on if that makes any sense. At the beginning of each audio track I can hear a pop/ click. Even if I change the start position or crop the audio file, Logic always adds a click/ pop (the sound of something being plugged in.) Sometimes it happens randomly too. What am I doing wrong? Any idea what causes this and how to get rid it?

I don't think it's my microphone as the problem does not occur in GarageBand and again, I can slide the audio file over to make it start at a different place, but when the audio track plays it starts with an annoying click.

Have you selected "snap edits to zero crossings" in the audio editor?

What are you using to record.

Do you have a compressor on the track?

Thanks all for the feedback and suggestions. After spending two days of troubleshooting, adjusting the buffer sizes, trying different mics and interfaces, I've come to discover that it is simply the environment causing the issue. Believe it or not, but there a half a dozen fan units right above my apartment that cause a subtle vibration, and as it turns out static-like audio interference with my recording equipment. that's Los Angeles living! I discovered this by simply setting up my recording equipment at a different location.

The Apple rep was very helpful. We had exhausted all resources just before taking the environment into account. Case closed! Thanks all!
