Q: 5th gen won't update or restore?
I've searched and searched, but nothing that exists on the internet seems to know what's happening here. So I turn to you, Apple forums.
I recently bough the 5th gen touch, and I've only had it for about a month. As of today, I've been trying (and failing) to update it to iOS 8.1.3. Each time, I'm told that it can't update, so it suggests that I restore it. Then it tells me it can't be restored, either (error 3014).
As per the suggestions of others, so far, I have: disabled my firewall/antivirus software, used a different USB port, done a hard reset/held the home button down afterwards, restarted my computer, and made sure everything else was up to date.
Every suggestion that I've seen so far for this problem doesn't want to work.
Any ideas? If it means anything, my computer's running Windows 8.1. I'm sad about that, too. We're all sad about that.
