Cannot turn off on power button efter upgrading to Yosemite

I usually turn off or stand by on the power button. But that does not work after upgrading to Yosemite; now I have to click the Apple icon instead. Not a big trouble, but still annoying. Can I set something up to reenable the power button? If not, does a shortcut key to the apple menu exist?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD
