Q: Canon MG3560 drivers

Hi,
Ive just bought a Canon MG3560 printer/scanner, and I'm having problems trying to set it up on my computer.  Ive followed all the steps, downloading the file which then there is no straight 'set up' file.  I have even gone to the extent of opening every file and installing, which allows me to open the program, but no printer or scanner shows up. When i try to add the printer, it isn't there either.  Also when opening the canon program, it came up saying the quick menu driver was missing.  Someone please help

Andi.

PS. i have Mac OS X Yosemite, Version 10.10.2

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

    Hello there AndiJay,

It sounds like you are unable to add this printer/scanner to your Printers and Scanners preferences pane in your System Preferences. Normally printers are downloaded via a software update but I would recommend the following troubleshooting steps to help you determine what might be happening, which includes that step as well. The title references an older OS but the steps are still relevant:

    Mac 101: Printing (Mac OS X v10.6)

Troubleshooting steps you can use if there is an issue

    1. Ensure the printer is connected, has power, has ink / toner, paper, and no alerts on its built-in display.
    2. Network based printers should be on the same subnet; you shouldn't have to worry about this if your printer is on your home network.
    3. Use Software Update for the latest available updates.

If the issue persists, try these additional steps:

    1. Reset the printing system (see below). Then, add the printer again.
    2. If the issue persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers from here. Then, add the printer again.
    3. If the issue still persists, contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
