LAN speed

I've just bought an Apple Airport Extreme 5th gen base station - whilst I am seeing excellent connection speed to my Mac Mini (450mbps) I am only seeing 100mbps to each of my 2nd and 3rd gen Apple TV's.

Can someone tell me if this is the upper limit of the Apple TV's connection speed?

Ideally I'd like it as high as possible for streaming content without lag.

Many thanks,

You could try wiring via ethernet to see if it is any better. Both devices only have 100BaseT (100Mbits/s), but that may be more stable if the issue is interference.

You could look at wireless diagnostics to see if the neighbours or cordless phones are causing you issues…

I don't know what the ATV spec is for wifi, Apples specs page seems a bit light on detail…

5Ghz may drop down to 2.4Ghz if there are walls or other obstructions. You may need to sit the Mini in the same room to compare accurately.
