I sent my 1st gen Ipod nano to apple using the prepaid envelope, they received it on the 5th January. It's now been 7 weeks and I have still not received a replacement ipod. How long should it take? The status still says diagnosing product.
Did you submit it through the 1st Generation recall screen or through the normal repair page? Have you called AppleCare to check on it?
This happened to me. It seems that some iPods get stuck in the diagnosing product state. I phoned Applecare and they cancelled the process and sent out a new iPod directly. Give them a call.
