New to FCPX (longtime FCP user) I have been learning about FCPX. Now ready to try exporting a finished project it crashes all the time.
File - share - master file (or apple devices 720 1080) Crashes
File - share - DVD (or YouTube) succeeds
I am just testing on one single clip ...
Yosemite 10.10.2 - MacBook Pro 15 newest model - FCPX 10.1.4 - I also
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), 16GB Ram - NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M
That's a bit different, Typically the YT and DVD share options are the ones that users report as problematic,
If the clip those export failed is native, optimize it. If it still fails, try another clip.
And it wouldn't hurt to clear the preferences. (Depress Option+ Command keys when the application launches.)

Thx Russ, I have retested - deleted prefs as you suggest, created a new project and imported a XDCam clip, choosing "optimize" - still crashes when I "share master"...
Note as a new user I have NEVER exported before in FCPX - this was my first attempt...

Updates: I have installed Pro Video Formats 2.0 per troubleshooting...
More Testing - I have tried to export from Motion as well and get similar errors - exports fine to Apple TV format but not to any master pro format - this is basically the same as when it fails in FCPX. As if both Apps are trying to call the same export routines.
I have tried exporting from FCP7 and it (thanks god!!) is still working fine.
I have installed both FCPX and Motion in a sub directory in Applications...

Not sure if this is the problem, but there are guidelines provided by Apple for installing FCP X on machine that also has FCP 7.

Thx Luis, I will try this reinstall when I get a chance with better wifi etc - likely back in the studio in a month or 3... currently shooting on location BVI

Yes Tom we love the BVI !! Finished shooting now we will hang out here for a while and rough edit!
BTW thanks for your advice on the new computer. We have a new MBP and its MUCH faster - plus seems to run FCP 7 fine!
