Hey folks,
i buyed a windows 7 home premium 64bit version and try to install it with bootcamp but it always says "Your bootable USB drive could not be created."
I tried so many things...take another usb-medium...using another usb-port...download the iso from another side instead of the link i get from the shop but i always get these message.
pls help

Can I install Windows on an external drive?
No, Boot Camp requires that Windows be installed on your internal hard disk.
From this Apple support article.
I dont want to install it on an external drive but you need an usb-drive for a bootable-medium

Is this a USB2 flash drive or a USB3? Please use a USB2 flash drive.
The USB-Flash Drive should be ok because i used it befor and it worked.
Only two thinks are different:
1. i installed yosemite new without my personal stuff
2. i took another win7-iso (but as i told this is not the problem because i used the old one i had)
Do you think i had to recover the hole system?

In Bootcamp Assistant, you should have three options,
1. Create Windows installer
2. Download Software
3. Install/Remove Windows...
If you choose only 1 and 2, are you able to create a USB? Just to confirm, your Mac is a 2013 iMac (Model Identifier 14,x).
I will try it but i know it is the late 2013 version.

What can i trie now?
Does it fail when downloading the Windows Support files from Apple Servers?
The messege comes every time after i press the Continue-Button (look at the picture from my second post).
(the picture is from the internet ;-) )

If you can post your image, it will help in diagnosing the problem. For example, the screen show W7, but someone has chosen a Windows8 ISO/DVD.
Here is the picture. This is the step when i get the problem (hope that german is no problem ;-) )
At the step before i check everything. And of cause i tried it when only the 1 and the 2 is choosen.

Is your USB a USB2 or USB3? Can you open the ISO file in Finder and see valid files in it?
I tried to install windows 7 before i get these issue. And it works. But there i had the problem to install Windows on a partition so i bought another version.
And know i had this problem...but not only with that...with the other one that worked before i have the same problem.
So i think that the usb is ok.
I tried to open the win7.iso and get an issue-messege....there i had the choice "do not open" or "open". I choose open and now i can open it without these message.
Maybe i had to restore it complete because last time i only install yosemite without any personal data´s?
If the Bootcamp Assistant also runs into the same issue as you have when manually opening the ISO, it will fail. Can you post a screen shot of the error message when you try to open the ISO. There may be a permission issue with the ISO file.
Is the User logged into the Mac and running BCA also the Administrator of the Mac?
It is another issue...maybe. I do not know if there is an opportunity. But why it do not work with the other one? With the other one i don't get these issues until yet.
