Upgrading from 10.4.11 to 10.5

I am using a Power Mac G5 with OS X 10.4.11. I am not interested in buying a new computer. I want to install a later version of OS X so that newer software will be compatible. Everything from OS X 10.5.1 seems to require OS X 10.5 to be installed first but after hours of searching, I havn't been able to find any way to upgrade to OS X 10.5.

Please help me!

10.5.8 is as high as any G5 can go...

Leopard requirements/10.5.x...

* Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor

minimum system requirements

* 512MB of memory (I say 1.5GB for PPC at least, 2-3GB minimum for IntelMacs)

* DVD drive for installation

* 9GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

Classic/OS9 Apps no longer supported.

As Niel says...

Trouble is Apple no longer sells it, check eBay & such for the Retail version, not the Gray Discs...
