iCloud Sync issues between iPhone and MacBook

😕I have a peculiar problem. I have iCloud turned on for Contacts, Calendar and Notes between my iPhone 6P and my MacBookPro running OS X 10.10.2. If I make a change or add an entry on the MBP, it does not show up on the iPhone until I make a change to something on the iPhone, then the iPhone changes go to the MBP, and the MBP changes then, and only then, appear on the iPhone.

I have the same iCloud account on both devices. Very confused. (I have not done anything regarding Family Sharing, and I do have the iCloud drive turned on.)

Any clues?
