Q: Will I lose all my messages when I turn iMessage off?

I was texting a friend on iMessage when it suddenly changed to green text bubbles and I had heard that turning iMessage off then back on would fix it. I would like to know if I am going to lose all my messages when I do this.

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

You wont loose anything, the green signifies that you are sending to someone who only has text messages or that you or they are not in a cellular data area meaning that you are sending only text messages, you do not need to switch off and on as if the other person is not registered for imessage it will still be green. Just check you havn't accidentally turned your data off
