constant storage almost full message

The storage almost full message started popping up often last Thursday. I deleted videos, apps, etc. and it showed that I had 5G available. Then all of the sudden it was all gone and it showed that I had 0 storage available again. This repeatedly happens. What is going on?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

Probably damaged data, back up and restore your phone to get your free space back again:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Tried the "iTunes and App Store" Sign out, wait 10 minutes, sign in...didn't work

Also, I have been deleting photos from messages...still says 0 bytes available.

Deleted 2 apps...still says 0 bytes available.

At this point I can not receive emails or texts, memory is completely full and phone is blearily functioning.

BTW, I have a iPhone 6 Plus, 16 GB
