I am trying to clear off some text message from iPhone 6. After deleting a few messages at a time, phone stops giving me the option to delete individual messages at which point I then have to restart the phone in order to delete more messages. How do I fix this?

Press an hold a text bubble, tap on more..., select the ones you want to delete on the left then tap the trash icon (bottom left)
Yes, I am doing this. But after I delete a few messages, the trash can no longer appears. I then restart the phone and then I can delete a few more, then the trash bin no longer appears, restart.....repeat.....etc etc
There's glitch (maybe a bug), Just cancel (top right) and start again. You do not have to restart your iPhone.

If those didn't work just reboot your Iphone

Did you get out of Messages by pressing the Home button then back in?
Ok. I just figured out how to do this:
tap "more" on the bubble. Then tap the message box where you would normally type your message. The key board pops up. Then, rest your fingertip at the top edge of the keyboard and swipe it down. The trash bin appears!
