Q: iPhone 4s - MacbookPro bluetooth connection not working
I sat down this evening to put an image on my iPhone to txt to a friend. It's one image, I don't want to sync and entire iPhoto folder just a library. I cannot get the iPhone 4s (running iOS 7.1.2) to connect to my MBP. MBP is 15" running 10.9.5 (Mountain lion). Initially, I tried connecting to the iPhone via bluetooth to send the file. The iPhone appeared in the Bluetooth listing, but on trying to send file the an error message appearing in the window 'Pairing Failed'. including the message 'The device does not have the necessary services'.
That's strange. The bluetooth on my iPhone works with both our cars at home for audio playing and phone calls. The bluetooth works with the home audio player. Why doesn't it work with a MBP??
Tired
1. Turning Bluetooth on - off on the iPhone.
2. Turning Bluetooth on - off on Macbook Pro.
3. Removing the device from the listing on the bluetooth menu on MBP.
Problem. How do I now re-discover the device on the MBP??
From the Bluetooth menu bar icon selected 'Open Bluetooth Preferences .. '
Where is the 'set up bluetooth device'.
No option under the 'advanced' button to setup new device.
Turning Bluetooth on - off finds the device again.
BUT the pairing fails from the MBP.
AND trying to connect to the MBP from the Settings - Bluetooth - Device listing results in :
"Connection Unsuccessful Make sure 'Matt's MacBook Pro' is turned on and in range"
Please help, very frustrating not being able to achieve simple tasks with apple branded devices.
(see images attached)
Thanks
Matt.
