I Have an iPad, 3rd Gen and I just recently noticed a triangular symbol on the status line of the IPad, that i had not noticed before. It is to the left of the battery status. Since I undoubtlbly 'fat fingered' something to activate the symbol, could someone tell me what it represents and how to remove it, if it can be removed?

Aloha Darrel. I believe it's the location systems icon. It shows you when the location systems is on or have been used, I,m not sure which..You don't want to turn it off. Go to settings> privacy> location services to see what it's all about. Stay well. Bob.

Hello My Friend. It has taken quite a while to send this reply because of problems either with my iPad or desktop computer. (Over 45 minutes) I have encountered everything from not being able to type characters to viewing your example of the symbol appearing on my iPad. your symbol entry is not even showing on my desktop computer or the IPad There were no "This solved my question" or "This helped me" buttons On either device. You reply shows no content but show the two buttons. I'm lucky I read everything I read everything before I started to respond. Enough of my problems.
I Just wanted to respond to your symbol example and say that was exactly what I was receiving and you explanation of Location Services was correct.

the ones that come to mind directly are a moon symbol for "do not disturb" or a bluetooth symbol for "bluetooth on".
