I have a virus

What do you mean when you say that you were informed you have a virus "when you went to Apple?" Did a tech from Apple tell you this, or did you see a pop-up in your web browser telling you this?

If the latter, this was a scam. Did you call the phone number it told you to call for "support?" If so, did you give the person on the other end remote access to your computer?
