Q: iTunes has stopped operating; Windows is searching for a solution.

Using Windows 7 64-bit on Dell N5110 laptop. Suddenly, iTunes stopped operating. Windows looks for a solution, but none is provided. I completely uninstalled iTunes, downloaded the newest version, but the new install encounters the same problem. I am unable to play anything now in iTunes. Rebooting does not help.

 

I don't know what I did to bring this about. I do regular Microsoft updates, and I have done Apple updates when new versions appear.

 

I could not find this problem in the extensive list of questions, and I apologize for the repeat of this question if it has been asked.
