Who sees my avatar/ display pic set on my iCloud?
I have a display pic but is it only visible to me or is it visible to my friends as well?
Ie. in iMessage or when I e-mail them?
Also if my display pic is customized or changed by someone in their contacts, would they see my default pic or the one they changed it to?

iMessage is Apple devices only.
If your friend has iMessage on his/her Mac and is configured to receive iMessages, they don't have to login to see your messages.
Your avatar face or photo is NOT send along when using e-mail, iMessage, SMS & MMS.
You friend with Apple devices decide what they want to see when you contact them.
Your iCloud avatar is only visible to you since you need the Apple ID & password to login.
Your face/photo is set up on their Contacts app by them and you cannot control what face/photo is displayed when you contact them.
What if we are sending iMessage on our laptops and my friends are also using iMessage. Don't you have to be logged in to iCloud to use iMessage on your laptop? Thank you.
