battery takes for ever to charge on my desktop USB port

So i just got a new iphone 6 last night, i wanted to charge it this morning on my work computer/usb port and it is charging ridiculously slow. It's been charging all day and it has not gone above 15%. Anyone else had this problem

iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.3

A low voltage for a USB port may be caused due to many components of the computer hogging more power from the SMPS.

But, charging time is mainly based on the charging current, give that the voltage is constant (at 5 V DC) anyway.

USB 2.0 ports allow a current rating of 1.1 A at 5 V DC.

USB 3.0 ports allow a current rating of 5 A at 5 V DC.

So try plugging the iPhone 6 to a wall outlet and see if there any improvements. If no, you should be able to return the unit for a new, because you are within the 14 days period.
