can you change the batteries in the older iMac remote control

This article goes on to tell about the indentation or place on the remote

that you can press with an adequately shaped object, to open battery

compartment. Some difficulty may be due to stickiness of the door.

Hopefully this may help somewhat. The old battery number, if still in the unit,

may be used to locate a replacement cell of similar power & shape.

Be aware that, starting with the Late 2011 21.5 inch iMacs (iMac13,1), the infrared port required to use the remote was eliminated.
