DHCP lease won't work again if Internet connection is lost

Basically if Internet goes out, such as from a router reset, my Mac won't be able to reach the Internet again even if I click "Renew DHCP Lease" in the network control panel.

Every time I lose internet connection, I have to restart my Mac to get the internet back.

This doesn't happen with any of the other five computers on my home network. Just my Mac.

What is going on here?

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Followed both KB entries and neither solves the issue.

When I am in the Network control panel, I see a yellow dot next to Ethernet and it is assigned an IP. However, despite the fact that my Windows PC auto-reconnected to allow me to send this message, I can't get onto the Internet or even access the router from my Mac. It's like nothing is getting out.

Any other ideas?
