Please be a lot more detailed in what you mean exactly - " not working " is not much to go on. Tell the entire story of what you do - step by step - and the result. Screenshot of the "not working" part would be helpful.

To help other members answer your question, give as many details as you can.

  • Include your product name and specs such as processor speed, memory, and storage capacity. Please do not include your Serial Number, IMEI, MEID, or other personal information.
  • Provide the version numbers of your operating system and relevant applications, for example "iOS 6.0.3" or "iPhoto 9.1.2".
  • Describe the problem, and include any details about what seems to cause it.
  • List any troubleshooting steps you've already tried, or temporary fixes you've discovered.

Easy there bennyboy... Do you understand that we here are users like yourself, not Apple employees? You said "I told you what happened..." well what you told us is

The support chat on this site is not working

and a screenshot

User uploaded file

and

It has been happening for several days now

and just now

I told you what happened...

  1. I went in looking for help
  2. selected i phone went to the support page where it has the different support options and
  3. clicked chat,

... what else do you need?

I figured all three points (my #s). Now, as I suggested in my first post - and as guide that is conveniently authored by Apple...

Sooo, let's see what you have left out: #s 1, 2 & 4 is a start on what we need. Also, every detail of #3 - what you chose and entered exactly. That way, I can try to REPLICATE your results from YOUR actions DUPLICATED. If we know all the info we ask for, we can do a better job of helping you - we cannot read your mind and my crystal ball is busted.

Well I am using a dell inspirion 3520, linnux and chrome

dell - details?

linux - details?

chrome - details?

have you tried another browser? Firefox? Some other? - this is a long shot as an Apache Error is not related to the client.

What is important is the exact steps from (what URL?) starting point - ?? http://www.apple.com/support/contact/ ??

I say again... I will try to Replicate your steps - exactly - so I need to know them all - exactly. Verbatim in any text entry fields. Exact labels of Picons you click.

I cannot go further than the serial # entry screen - but if you put it in your reply then quickly edit it out with the Edit link at bottom right of your just posted reply, I am very likely the only one who will see it (I will get it in an email notice) as no one else is participating in this thread.

Since you are having trouble supplying the data I ask for, maybe just an agreement that this is what you do will suffice:

from http://www.apple.com/support/contact/ > [Get Started] button
User uploaded file

Then iPhones
User uploaded file

Then "Service Requests & Troubleshooting" displays

User uploaded file

from which you choose "The topic is not listed"

User uploaded file

Then enter some vague text because it does not matter Then continue
User uploaded file

No thanks. Continue

User uploaded file

.Then Chat

User uploaded file

Then we need a serial #

If your only issue is regarding your other authored thread - I can not buy apps - then I suggest that you follow up by Doing what King_Penguin suggests in his reply that you seemed to ignore as much as you have my instructions here.

Cooperate, and you likely will get to the solution for your problem buying apps quickly

I think this thread is done.

bennyboy

I wasn't trying to be rude - it would have sounded a lot different if I was.

I was merely stating that when you are asked for specific information, in a list, you should cooperate and give the answers - or say I don't now what you mean, or the like. It was simple question and answer. With this format, those who help a lot have information they need to advise the course of events to take. If the patients run the asylum... well maybe you get the idea.

Bottom line is that your choice of OS/Browser are very likely being rejected by the Apple subdomain server " cctechchatapi.apple.com " for whatever reason. Borrow a computer not running Linux and I'll bet you get through.

Take a look at this and see just how finicky Apple Servers are - and how they might be tricked > Re: In App Purchase - don't be under the impression this has any solution to your App purchase problem though, it is just a Server wackiness example.

BUT - I still think if you would state your issue here, we are likely more experienced than whoever you get at Apple Chat Entry Level Specialist - which only have a Knowledge Base of pat responses at their disposal. Suit yourself, amigo.

But like I said, this issue of Chat failing is likely explained - if not resolved.

best luck
