So I'm planning to buy a imac computer in March, gotta save some money first. So I'm looking into all the info in what I will need with it. I have a lot of pictures and videos, and music on my computer already. I was planning on getting a external hard drive to keep plugged in to help storage space. Is that doable?
yeah if you have a windows computer make the external drive fat32 not ntfs otherwise the apple computer can't write to it without third party commercial software

You should also consider using an external drive for your Time Machine backup.
would I need to get a new hard drive for that I have one that I use to save pictures and videos on that I plug and unplug from my dell. Sorry not that smart with apple tech stuff right yet lol. Once I get one I learn things like this no prob though
