Ipod Touch Songs Not Playing Properly

I have an 8GB Ipod Touch 4th Generation on iOS 6.1.6 and I'm having real trouble with my songs playing. Some songs completely skip and others say they are playing but there is no noise. Similarly, some songs don't play at the beginning and start mid way through the song. I have updated both my ipod and iTunes to the latest software possible, and have completely erased all songs and reinstalled them all but then completely different songs don't work. Also, I have restored my ipod back to original settings and then restored my ipod from back up but they still don't work.

Please can somebody help me.
