STORAGE FULL, RESET PHONE?

My storage on my phone is full, although I have one app and 30 photos. I went onto manage settings and it says I have '800' photos on my phone, the genie said that its because they don't actually delete from the device itself, and said that the only way to get around the problem would be to 'erase all content and settings'. Does anyone have any experience of doing this? I'm nervous to go back to factory settings, thanks.

Did you check the "Recently deleted" album in the Photo app? That's where all photos that you delete from the camera roll go for a certain period of time, before they get erased automatically. If there are any left, delete them manually.

If this album is empty, you'll have to restore your phone to get the space back, explained in this article:

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

You can also use iTunes to do that on your computer.
