See subject line. iPhone 4s error message. Phone has been in service for years now I'm getting error message that it can't be activated.

It seems like you unexpectedly see a message that your iPhone could not be activated.

Since your iPhone has been working normally before this, try these troubleshooting steps first:

If your carrier provided a SIM card, make sure it's in your iPhone.

Restart the iPhone.

Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.

Contact your carrier to check for any network or account issues.
