Unable to change the startup disk

Hi,


I have created a bootable drive with Carbon Copy Cloner on an external 2TB drive. I wanted to startup from the external drive. So I went in the system preferences, I unlock the padlock and choose the external drive ... then pressed the restart button. Atfer trying a few times, the computer never restarted from the external drive, always from the internal HD.


I have an Intel iMac (late 2013) with a 3TB fusion drive.


What could be the reason for that ?

I see that you are trying to make your external hard drive into a bootable drive. Try using the information in the following article to help you accomplish this goal:
