IPod touch has multicolored lines running up and down the screenp

User uploaded fileHi I have an iPod 5th gen 16gb and recently it started having multicolored lines covering the screen, I can see "ipod" in the corner and the time faintly but nothing else. i don't know if the touch screen works or not. I've tried resetting and restoring a everything and nothing worked. Im thinking its a wire that got pinched or disconnected and am wondering if i were to replace the screen or mess with wires if that'd work? Would rather not send it to Apple so they can charge me 10x what it'd be to fix myself and have to deal with them taking 3 months to get it back to me

Likely it will fix the problem. However, there is some chance it is the logic board send the signal to the screen.

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 f0r a 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

Apple - iPod Repair price

If you elect to fix it yourself or have a third-party fix it then the above Apple exchange is no longer an option.

A third-party place like the following maybe less. Google for more.

iPhone Repair, Service & Parts: iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook Pro Screens

Replace the screen yourself if you are up to it
