Q: MacBook Pro won't show Airplay icon on AppleTV

I'm not sure what gen my MacBook Pro is, but I recently updated the software to the latest Yosemite and have the most recent version of the AppleTV and I can't seem to get my macbook to mirror onto my AppleTV. Please help

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

     

    I understand that you would like to use your MacBook Pro to mirror to your Apple TV, but you do not see the AirPlay icon. In this situation, I would recommend using the attached article to verify that your MacBook Pro is supported and how to set up AirPlay Mirroring. Please let me know if you continue to have and issue and what steps aren’t working as expected.
