Very slow loading on apple TV with high speed internet ?

It's Apple's network. The network performance test on AppleTV completed successfully. Can you try troubleshooting the problem, instead of blaming network performance. Nothing has changed with my home configuration, and I have no other problems except with Apple TV.

The normal reset didn't make any difference, it turns out that the hard reset is the way to go.. a bit confused at first when trying to follow the hard reset mentioned, "pressing down and holding menu"? I'm using siri remote and there is no way to press any "down" button.. so then I searched for "how to hard reset for apple tv" and found this from the apple support page:

Use your remote

Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote:* Hold down the and Menu buttons. Let go when the light on your device flashes.

Now my movie streaming works great as expected!

What troubleshooting did you do? What were the results of the network report? Did you test elsewhere? Other devices working doesn't rule this out.

I recently had a similar problem with my apple TV with downloads taking over 6 hrs! Resets and restores did not work for me. After much troubleshooting with apple support the cause of my problem was found to be internet boosters I had added to increase wifi reception as my router was some distance away. Once I removed these boosters downloads were only minutes instead of hours! Just thought I would mention this as it may be a solution for other people having similar problems.

I sure do have ATV. 2 in fact. My home network works fantastic with all devices and apps with the exception of iTunes on ATV, iPhone and iPad. It's baffling why iTunes cannot stream movies through those devises. Even in SD format.

I have the new Apple TV 4K, and have it set at 1080p. When ever I try to see a trailer in the apple movies app, the streaming looks worse than 420p and then starts to slow and stops. My internet is no problem. I have 300 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

This is apple's fault. (this also happened with my second generation Apple TV)

Sane here, started after updating my software; when ‘videos’ was been replaced with ‘TV’.

With ‘Videos’ I could mirror my phone and play movies that I had already fully downloaded on my phone, through apple TV without any buffering at all.

However, since the update, when i try to mirror my phone and play a fully downloaded film the

new ‘TV’ app goes to a loading screen that says the movie will play in 1-4 hours!!!! Absolutley nothing has changed apart from the app! Why can’t i just mirror my phone to play movies like i used to on the old app?

I could understand if i was streaming a film from my itunes library; i.e. downloading as it played, however this is not the case! I am just trying to mirror my phone and play a film that has already been downloaded! HELP!

Same here. 200+ hours to stream a movie I bought months ago. No help from Apple support. Wondering how wide spread it is.

See above. It's not widespread, and issues that arise of this nature will typically be network related.

I been having the same issue and tried to reset my Apple TV and only a few movies and shows will play and the others don't.

Are they showing an error? Buffering? Have you done any troubleshooting?

It says loading and after a while it says movie will play in over 10 hours. I called my internet company and told me everything is ok?

Occurs all the time for the last 10 days or so.

Speedtest confirmed via wired and wireless

DNS is on auto.

Reset did not solve problem.

Netflix on AppleTV works fine, as does Hulu.

More recently purchased AppleTV itunes movies will play

Older movies will not play within 10-300 hours of me asking for them.

AppleTV support was near useless and refused to admit the problem was with Apple network. Told me to come here.
