imac2011 firewire800 doesn't mount an external HDD

I work with two LaCie external HDD's, using FW800. Today, the imac doesn't mount any of the HDD. It makes no difference, wether I use them together or alone, the HDD starts, but doesn't mount. When I use the usb-port, the HDD is connected and works.

Is there a solution to fix the problem?

There may be a power related issue, that may (or not) be resolved by use of the

System Management Controller - reset - since that may affect a Mac's port power.

Do you have any other FireWire products that may be used to test the internal FW ports?

Is there any indication of FW items attached to their respective ports, in the system profile?

Hopefully the issue is easily resolved, and is not an iMac hardware problem.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
