Feb 20, 2015 7:35 AM in response to NAPAKINGby Kilgore-Trout,Per the terms of use, we really cannot help you with jailbreak issues. About the only options for you are to completely restore the phone as new device (NOT from back up), or locate the support site for the software you used to jailbreak it. Neither is a sure fix.

Feb 20, 2015 7:35 AM in response to NAPAKINGby Phil0124,Jailbreaking is not supported by Apple, and voids your warranty, and as such forfeits any support from Apple and by extension these forums.
We cannot help you with a jailbroken phone. You will need to find help elsewhere.

Really?
Where did you get this?

So we can help them?

i reset my Jailbroken Iphone from the settings in the phone and now the phone is stuck on the reboot screen (not the connect to itunes screen). what should I do to reset my iphone back to normal.
It may not be possible to reset it back to normal. Your one possibility is to restore it using DFU mode. A Google search will help.

Feb 20, 2015 7:58 AM in response to Chris CAby TJBUSMC1973,You know, having just reviewed both https://discussions.apple.com/terms-and-conditions!input.jspa & http://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/terms/site.html, I don't see anything that expressly forbids assisting other users with jailbroken devices.
Granted, https://www.apple.com/legal/warranty/products/ios-warranty-document-us.html does make it clear that unauthorized modifications void the device warranty. While it's a logical extension that a device that has a voided warranty, since it is not supported by Apple anymore, should also not receive support on the Apple website, I don't see anything that makes that totally clear, or spelled out in writing.
Perhaps it then comes down to personal choice. I am not personally inclined to assist someone that violated the terms of their agreement, since that sets a precedent that I don't like. Short of recommending restoring back to factory settings to remove the jailbreak, I personally think that users that have jailbroken their devices should be left... to their own devices.

Feb 20, 2015 7:54 AM in response to TJBUSMC1973by Kilgore-Trout,On the other hand, the host routinely delete post/threads concerning jailbreaking.
-
Feb 20, 2015 7:59 AM in response to Kilgore-Troutby Lawrence Finch,That's a judgement call by the hosts. Instructions or recommendations to jailbreak are routinely deleted. Help unjailbreaking usually is not.

Oh, I agree, and I regularly report such posts as well, especially if they start to show other users assisting with those jailbroken devices (other than 'unjailbreaking'/restoring back to factory). I think that is the intent of the terms of use, even though it is not specifically spelled out. And the decisions of the Hosts to remove such threads/posts seems to support that belief.
I think the only support we, as a community, should provide is how to restore back to factory settings to remove the jailbreak. As far as helping a jailbreak work properly? No, I think that shouldn't be allowed.

I would think that my response to the OP was pretty much within those parameters.

Yes but this post is not about jailbreaking, It is post-jailbreak.
My suggestion is to tell them what you did in the 2nd sentence.
Restore it and/or get help from the jailbreak website.
Many responses tell them as you & Phil did, "Per the terms of use, we really cannot help you with jailbreak issues.".
I would think that my response to the OP was pretty much within those parameters.
The 2nd sentence was, yes.

To be a bit pedantic, how about a broken screen? Unless they have Applecare Plus, it is out-of-warranty.
And what if the 1 year/Applecare Plus warranty ran out? It's out-of-warranty.
