screen shot file time is wrong

I've taken a few screen shots in the past couple of days. I'm noticing that the time on the file is wrong for all of them. For example, I take a screen shot at 11:30 a.m., and the file, saved on the desktop, shows that the screen shot was taken at 3:03 a.m. The computer time is accurate, however. Anyone have any idea why this might be and how I might correct it?

I just noticed this issue also. It is NOT an error. If you expand the file name and extension you will see the time is probably correct. The time seems exactly as you describe in your note on my screen shots UNTIL the name is expanded on the file. I.E. on the Desktop the file shows "Screen Shot..... 6.42AM. However if "rename that file" is selected the entire date and time shows and it is correct: (Screen Shot 2017-11-19 at 10.26.42 AM.). The time is being CLIPPED in the actual file name shown on the desktop.

Imagine a date and time format change or a desktop viewing change would fix what "appears" to be an error but is really only a viewing issue. Now that it seems not to be a "real" error in hardware and only in viewing options, it might or might not be changed. The actual date on the file is correct, it just needs to be viewed differently to be fully seen.
