Q: Missing iMovie Library Icon

Inside my Movies folder exists the iMovie Library packaged folder and the iMovie Theater packaged folder.  Both are missing their icons in list view (they appear fine in icon view) and instead appear as a blank white file (as if osx doesn't recognize the file type).

It does not affect their functionality, but it is annoying to me.

Background, I brought these folders over from my previous computer running the same version of OSX and iMovie.

The file extensions on the folders are correct (.imovielibrary and .theater).  I have relaunched finder, rebooted my computer, deleted the finder preference file, deleted the icons preference file, and re-installed iMovie, all to no avail.

Any ideas?

In case anyone else has this random issue, I found a solution.

Not sure what caused the problem in the first place, but if you navigate to your applications folder, find iMovie, ctrl click and select "Show Package Contents," then select the folder "Contents" then "Resources" and inside look for files ending in .icns.  Select the appropriate one you're looking for (in my case "iMovie Library.icns" and "Icon_Imovie_TheaterBundle.icns."

Now, in a new finder window, select the file that had the problem (in my case, "iMovie Library").  Ctrl click and select "Get Info."

Now drag the .icns file from the previous window onto the icon at the top of the Get Info window and it should fix the issue.
