Error code 3014

I have tried every solution I can find (fix host, use original usb cable, check security software, use different computer, update software, etc) to resolve the 3014 error code when I try to restore my iPod 2nd gen running OS 4.2.1. My screen shows the usb cable and the iTunes icon. I am unable to get it into DFU mode.

Any suggestions?
