Why are the "others" files occupying a lot in my mac book?

Please help :<

I've been searching and they just tell me to delete some apps or something. But the thing is, it never reduce at all! I don't know what "others" even mean! This occupied so much of my memory that I have to transfer files to my hard drive or my google drive.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
