iTunes is very slow when updating apps

Since a few days iTunes is very slow when updating apps and downloading updates for iPad etc.

Very often a download is ended with the message server reply time to long.

I'm running the latest updated version of iTunes on an iMac mid-2010 with latest OS. I have some 3-4 GB out of 12 GB memory free and 70GB free out of 500 GB storage. I have measured my internet connection speed and it is very good 95-98 Mbit/sec.

I can't see any obvious reason to why iTunes is so slow. Have anyone experienced this? Please help!

Yes! I have the exact same issue. So I tried some things.

I am on Uvese (via wifi) and was trying to update the apps on my PC via itunes. Taking FOREVER. So i tired it directly from my iPhone 6 via wifi - same issue. Then I turned off wifi on the iPhone and updated over (ATT) LTE. That worked great. I am thinking it is a Uverse/ATT issue at this point.

I have this same problem and tried all the things here plus other like using the terminal command flush clean dscacheutil -flushcache, repaired disk permissions, clearing and resting all catches using Yosemite Cache Cleaner, resting location of iTunes library location, and restarts.

I am only getting down load rates of about 50K with a 12MB connection. This same issue is occurring with all App Store updates. I can download directly from support.apple.com to get software updates at normal speeds however. This has been going on now for many, many months and I do not what else to try. Any help or suggestions would be welcome.

Just today my iPhone 6 plus is also seeing this same issue when downloading app updates using a WiFi connection. I have restated it but no luck.

I am using Yosemite 10.10.5 and iTunes 12.2.2.25 on a 12 core Mac Pro 2012.

This is a letter I sent to Apple today after a CenturyLink tech came out to my house.

A tech that came out to my house said large numbers of complaints are coming from CenturyLink customers with the same problem I having with updates from Apple. He did find some problems with my copper and DSL modem and fixed those issues. I was hoping to relay this information to Rob who has assisted me but, must have made an error. Could you please try to contact him and let him know there is an issue that is affecting a large number of CenturyLink DSL customers, if not all of them. The tech informed me that others were able to do updates from their work location with no problems as I had done with iPhone 6 plus.

I would encourage Apple contact our company contact one another to see if the root cause for this issue can be found. Perhaps CenturyLink will contact Apple but, do not know for sure.

Despite the repairs to my copper and DSL modem, I am still however and still having the issue of software updates only going with about 30KB to 60KB. So the problem is not yet fixed.
