Q: Persistent email addresses
After replacing an old email address in contacts, the old email address still appears in Apple mail when I type the person's name. The new address is a choice, but the old address is at the top of the list. When I check in "Contacts", the old address is gone. There seems to be an "autofill" from prior entries. I want to clear the history, but have not found any information on how to do that.
The operating system is OS X Yosemite, Version 10.10.2. The computer is a 24 inch iMac, early 2009.

Use the Messages ➙ Previous Recipients menu option,
locate and delete all occurrences of the old email address.
