I can not connect my ipod nano to itunes on my computer

Since I have downloaded the newest version of iTunes on my computer , I have not been able to successfully connect and download music onto my iPod Nano . The icon that ITunes help says is where I am suppose to drag the songs I want to , but that icon does not appear at all . I've had no trouble in the past with the old version of iTunes at all . I have tried so many things to get the icon to appear but nothing seems to work at all . All my other devices connect successfully but my iPod Nano does not . What do I do ?

Hello Mason_renee,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues syncing your iPod nano with iTunes. You mention that an icon is not appearing, what icon is it that you are referring to? Does your iPod appear at all in iTunes? If not, please check out these resources for some great troubleshooting steps:
