Several online sites that used to have helpful info for now vintage Apple hardware have

gone away, probably due to economics and the forward of planned obsolescence. Ones

such as LowEndMac, and XLR8 Mac had so much more.

Hopefully you can make the keyboard work; or get a working used one from a supplier

such as powerbookmedic - or wegenermedia, whose inventory is larger because they

actually fix most portable Macs. The latter can repair on-site, like most major fixes.

Good luck in this matter! 😐

Wow!

What a great reply to my question, and the links were just phenomenal. . . I never use google to search for anything, but the stuff that you sent me, astounded me. The ifixit link is now om my favorites tool bar.

I fix things for a living, and this site will now help me to be a lot more effective in my endeavors.

I am not a geek, but with the instructions on ifixit, I could become one quite easily.

I removed a few key caps and tested my G4 out, and the keys did not work then either. I am assuming that I may have to replace the keyboard, or that there is a wire loose, or possibly a software issue. . .

ifixit will help me exponentially in that matter.

I thank you so much for opening my eyes, and heading me in the right direction. I am truly grateful for your help.

I just your reply to my question this morning, and I have not yet had a chance to go through it and explore it fully, but I will, just as soon as I get home from the work I need to get done. . .

Thanks again for such a useful answer to my problems. . .

Duane
