Q: should I update my ipad air 2 from ios 8.1.0 to ios 8.1.3

I bought my Air 2 just before Christmas, and it has none of the popping problems outlined in some of the lengthy threads here. I guess I'm a little paranoid about not "fixing it if it ain't broke", though I realize the update fixes a lot of bugs and security holes. Any reason not to jump from 8.1.0 to 8.1.3 at this time? Should I wait for the next one, that everyone is saying is a bigger update, and hopefully will fix the popping problem (that mine does not have)? I assume it bypasses 8.1.2 in the process?

Thanks ;-).

I updated my iPad Air 2 to iOS 8.1.3 and have had no problems whatsoever. My iPad did exhibit the popping sound a couple of times. But it happened only a few times and it has been weeks since I have heard it again.

The popping sound is something that you would have heard by now. Most users heard this from the very start with the iPad Air 2. It wasn't something that developed after using the device for a while, IMO, I think you will be fine updating if your biggest concern is the popping sound arising.

My iPad Air 2 runs great with iOS 8.1.3.

BBest to page down on the main page and read through some of the other posts about upgrading. Click on View More a few times to see older posts. If I recall there are a few posts about problems with upgrading the air 2 but you will need to decide for yourself if it's worth the risk. Personally I don't upgrade and follow the If it ain't broke.....  path.  I have no problems with my air and no need to upgrade.

If you don't have a single problem with yours, what are you doing on the threads regarding the pop problematic? do you enjoy to criticize others who in fact have this problem? are you only afraid of what will happen if you update your iOS?  Maybe you need to see a Doctor man....as you mentioned...paranoia....

I saw a few posts from people who's non popping iPad started popping and wanted to occasionally check in to see if Apple came up with a fix , just in case mine started. I subscribed to the thread to occasionally check any news, and partly out of curiosity.

I don't have the time or interest to read all your lengthy posts in the saga of your iPad. From what I remember, you live in Mexico and when your iPad first started popping, you tried to return it an Apple's policy there wouldn't, so you got stuck with what we all feel is a defective product. Other posters tried to help, but after a while, it seemed like all you did was complain, or at least that's the way it started to sound. Sorry if I am misrepresenting you.
