Q: How can I find apps already purchased?

On Yosemite I have set up my wife in family sharing. She has an iPad which was previously set up in my name as the administrator. Since then the iPad was set up in her name. How can I retrieve apps previously purchased on the iPad which at the time was in my name? I'm not able to see these apps on my iMac. It would be nice to be able to view all apps which have been previously purchased.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

iPad apps will not run on a Mac and Mac apps will not run on an iPad. They have two different operating systems.

Yes, I realize there are two operating systems. I want to retrieve apps purchased in my name on our iPad, but now my wife is the operator of the iPad. So my question was, how do I find the apps purchased on her iPad in my name, so she can use them under family sharing? Thanks for your interest.

If they are still in the store then they will show in the Purchased section of your account e.g. on your Mac's iTunes click on your id towards the top right of the iTunes screen and then click Purchased on the popup

    itunes 12 purchased.jpg

They should also show in the Purchased tab in the App Store app on the iPad : Family Sharing - Apple Support

Once you’ve set up Family Sharing, all the eligible songs, albums, movies, TV shows, books, and apps ever purchased by family members are immediately available to everyone else in the family. And, of course, so are new purchases. The content appears automatically in the Purchased tab in iTunes, iBooks, or the App Store for each family member. Just select the family member whose collection you’d like to browse, then download and play the content you choose. Other family members can access your collection in the same way. If you want to keep some purchases private, you can choose to hide individual items.

Yes, I can find all the albums purchased on my iMac, but it's the apps I purchased when I as previous owner of the iPad  now in my wife's name which I'm interested in retrieving.

I have now followed the instructions on the iPad support page which you have shown. Under the purchased items i have been able to locate my old apps, they are now being downloaded on the iPad for later use. Great! And thanks a lot. It's nice when things work the way you want.

You should also be able to see, and redownload, them on your Mac's iTunes, at the top right of the Purchased screen are there not buttons for Music, Films, TV Programmes and Apps ?

But of course you are right, it's all there for my iPhone and the iPad. Great.
