Q: Finder does not start or allow relaunch
I've have not been able to start Finder (or Spotlight) since a recent restart. What I have tried so far:
- Killed and relaunched from Activity Monitor as well as Terminal
- Disabled dropbox finder extension.
- Log in as different user (Works fine)
- Repaired Disk and Permissions (No change)
- Restarted in safe mode (Still does not work)
- Restarted in recovery mode and attempted re-install OSX, this ends up hanging each time (left it for 12 hours last time and it never completed)
- I have also moved the finder (and other related files) .plist to force it to recreate but it never gets that far. (New files are not created and Finder just hangs).
Any suggestions on what I should do next?
This is what I have:
iMac (27-inch Mid 2011)
2.7 Ghz Intel Core i5
20 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
OSX Yosemite 10.10.2

Without being able to use the Finder or sign out of iCloud, you would be hard put to do anything but delete the account and restore it from a backup that predates the problem.
