Q: problem enabling keychain on iPad

I use keychain on my iMac and wanted to sync with my iPad; no problem accessing the necessary 'page' in Settings but when it comes to sending me a code to my mobile/cell phone, it doesn't arrive; I am pretty sure that this is because the number shown on the screen has a space between numerals four and five, although all of the digits themselves are correct. I've tried varioius ways to correct this but it doesn't seem possible, perhaps because that's the way that I am listed in  Contacts on both devices?

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

    Hello peeyar,

It sounds like you need to change your iCloud Keychain phone number to be able to enable that option on your iPad. You should be able to change that phone number on your Mac with this section fo the following article, named:

    Get help using iCloud Keychain

    • On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Options next to Keychain. (In OS X Mavericks or earlier, click iCloud, then click Account Details.) Make sure the phone number under Verification number is correct. If not, enter another phone number.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

    All the very best,

    Sterling
