How do I dissociate a device from my AppleID

I recently bought a new MacBook.

I cleaned out the old one, deleted the data on the disk etc. Then I recycled it.

On "iCloud settings" on the web, under "Devices" it tells me

"you are signed in and running iOS8 or OS X Yosemite on the following devices"

Then there is a list of

my iPhone (fine),

my iPad (fine),

my current MacBook with its serial number (fine), and

my old MacBook with its serial number (not fine).

How do I tell it that this old MacBook is no longer one of my devices?

Does it matter?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Thank you for your answer Brett,

That is clear for iTunes. I did what you said and looked at my iTunes Store devices. Only the iPad is registered.

My issue is not with iTunes, but with iCloud.com, logged in and looking at iCloud Settings.

https://www.icloud.com/#settings

Here is where it says I have 4 devices see image below: User uploaded file

See in the image there are two MacBook Pro?

One of those is my old one.

Does this matter and if so, how do I get rid of it?
