Thanks. I now know I did not make myself clear. I wanted to transfer some photos from iPhoto to Ultra 8GB SanDisk. I have done this before to a 4GB Lexar and had no problems. I now have Yosemite 10.10.2 and assume that is my problem. My computer does not recognize the disk. I have a Targus device. The light comes on but cannot get any other action. Does this help you to understand my problem. I read on here somewhere that one person bought a Sandisk Mobilemate SD+ and it helped. I am not very adept at all of this. If you can help me I would most appreciate it. Thanks. Keith
It could be that that particular flash drive is not compatible with Yosemite. Check it on another Mac to see if that's the case. With that drive plugged in does Disk Utility recognize it?
I just tried it again. A sign appears on my screen saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" Below are three boxes "Initialize" "Ignore" and "Eject" What should I do now? Thanks. Mr. Old Toad
As a matter of fact five of those messages appeared one upon the other.
Reformat it to MS Dos (FAT). That way it can be used by both PCs and Macs. If you don't plan using it with a Windows machine format it OS X Extended (journaled) and see it it can be copied to.
