Half of my screen is lighter or inverted color than the other half

hey,

This afternoon my computer was on the login screen and when i pressed the space bar to pause my music, all of a sudden half of my screen turned a lighter color. I can almost say it looks like invert color. Why did this happen? Some of the black colors look blue but not all of it, which is the weird part. The icons on the bottom of the screen are a lighter shade. Has this happened to anyone? How can I fix this? Please help!

Hey ferquiroz,

Wow! That definitely sounds frustrating. Let’s see if we can troubleshoot and isolate this issue a little further. To do so, check out the following resource:

Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays - Apple Support

http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201177

If the issue persists after following the applicable steps in this resource, you may want to have the computer checked out by someone. For that, you can refer to the section towards the bottom of the article:

If you tried all of these steps for your display and the video issues persist, contact Apple technical support or take your Apple computer to the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for diagnosis. If you plan to visit an Apple Retail Store, make a reservation at the Genius Bar using http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ (available in some countries only).

Note: Diagnostic fees may apply for issues not covered under warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan (APP).

Thanks,

Matt M.
