My documents created with Appleworks6 will not open now since upgrading to Yosemite
Called Apple and was told Appleworks6 is not their product but possibly check Apple Discussion groups.
iMac, iOS 7.1
I have heard that some users have had luck opening documents created in the old obsolete AppleWorks with LibreOffice.
The first link above is out of date - since it was posted a new version of iWork has been released which will not open AW documents. The second link is up to date (I hope - I wrote the article).

Reading your post has confirmed al my fears about deciding to upgrade to Yosemity. I would lose 20 years of Appleworks/ClarisWorks files which I use to run my life!
You can't rely on running leopard for ever, make a plan to preserve your 20 years of files in formats that can be read by current Macs,

Before you upgrade to Yosemite, partition your hard drive or add an external drive and install Yosemite there. Dual-Boot into Snow Leopard when you want to run Appleworks and Yosemite otherwise.
