Appleworks6 won't open documents with Yosemite

IMac 2007 Processor 2.4 GB 67 MHz DDR22 SDRAM

now OS x Yosemie 10.10.2


My documents created with Appleworks6 will not open now since upgrading to Yosemite

Called Apple and was told Appleworks6 is not their product but possibly check Apple Discussion groups.

iMac, iOS 7.1

I have heard that some users have had luck opening documents created in the old obsolete AppleWorks with LibreOffice.

Before you upgrade to Yosemite, partition your hard drive or add an external drive and install Yosemite there. Dual-Boot into Snow Leopard when you want to run Appleworks and Yosemite otherwise.
