Feb 23, 2015 10:33 AM in response to G.Albyby Russ H,Compressor is a compression application that has been developed by Apple over more than a dozen years. It was originally designed for the professional market and until 2011 was only available as part of the Final Cut Studio suite of pro A/V apps. Its feature set includes transcoding to and from proprietary and non-proprietary codecs, reformatting (resolution, fps, container), standards conversion, and basic DVD and Blu-Ray disk creation.
I don't know anything about the other apps. If their developers maintain a user forum, I suggest asking there.
